The Former Consulate-General of the United Kingdom building located in Shanghai, China, is one of the oldest and largest buildings on The Bund. Built in the Renaissance Revival style in 1873, it covers an area of 38,559 square meters. It once housed the Consulate-General of the United Kingdom, and the building is now opened as the Peninsula Hotel Shanghai.

Very posh hotel and very comfortable room. The hotel actually has two towers ( two wings), one face the Bund, and a taller ( and newer one ) have views of both Bund and Pudong. Featured here is the standard room in the Grand Tower which is already very well equipped and decorated. A King size bed featured 300 thread count lines and is very comfortable.

Pudong is a very fast developing area of a fast developing city and boast having two of the tallest skyscrapers in the World, the Jin Mao building and the World Financial Centre.
